urgent: applying as a carer for my mother

Post by amanda1 » Mon Jul 11, 2016 12:15 pm

hi,
I am in urgent need to apply as a carer for my mother, she is a British citizen, registered in 2009. She just moved here some months back, due to a medical condition. She can't bear the severe hot weather back home. I am married and living here on a visa, but my visa will end in an year, and my mother will be left alone. My mother is living with me. How can I apply? What's the process? How long it may take?

As you're not applying for British citizenship, I've moved your post to the appropriate sub-forum.

What is your current visa that you hold?

There is no 'carer' visa category.

Why can't your husband extend his tier 1 entrepreneur?

@vinny - am I correct in my assessment that this route does not lead to ILR/PR??

Yes. Not directly. But perhaps later under Long residence?

Actually I am wanting a quicker process to citizenship, if possible through my mother. My husband's route will take longer, he still will get an extension, after which he will apply for ILR.
So i'm searching for a quicker route, so that we can settle down and get on with our lives and goals.

There is no quick route to citizenship, because your mother cannot retrospectively pass her naturalised citizenship on to you. This was already explained in your other thread.

The quickest route, as you have already also been advised, is through your husband's Tier 1 Ent route.
