Question about documentation and viability (American + Brit)

Hello, my name is Audrey and I'm an American woman who is going to be marrying a British man. Since he doesn't meet the financial requirements to bring me over, and we want to stay in the UK to be close to his family, our plan was to establish residency in Ireland and then move to the UK.

That being said, I am unsure what documentation I need other than my passport and marriage license. We will most likely be traveling separately. He is also unsure what he needs to bring to establish himself in Ireland as far as documentation goes.

I know this route has become increasingly controversial, but I hope it is still viable for the next year or so.

You have a 3 months 'grace period' to settle in before hubby has to hunker down and set to work. (Ofcourse he can start earlier if he likes).
But do find time to check out some of the Star Wars film locations.

UK is still in EU. Article 50 not triggered yet.
Free movement and the Directive (and relevant case law), all as has been transposed into UK's EEA Regulations, still stands. For now.
