Tier 2 Dependent Visa Requirements - Is IELTS required?

Post by Limexv » Sat Jul 16, 2016 11:18 pm

Would anyone be able to answer if IELTS is required for a dependent visa application?

And as proof of maintenance, can the applicant use the sponsor's bank statements instead of own?

Thank you in advance!

Oh, as a matter of fact, I do have one other. Thank you. I'm currently living in the UK with my sister's family in a 3 bedroom house. I haven't gone out to find my own place yet simply because I didn't find any need to. Now my spouse will soon apply for a dependent visa and my sister said that she will provide a letter, much like a guarantee letter, that me and my spouse can stay at their house. Which was what she did for my initial visa application.

Now my question is, would it be better if I find a place to rent so I can show a tenancy agreement or will my sister's letter suffice?

Hopefully you'd have an insight regarding the matter. Thank you! :D

Your sister's place should suffice provided it is not overcrowded. See link below for guidance on overcrowding.

If you use sister's house, you will need more than just a letter though.

Oh yes! We'll be providing titles and mortgage agreements as well. We'll probably write in the cover letter that it's only temporary as we'll find a place once he arrives. I don't want to rent out a place when there's a chance that a visa might not be granted. Thank you very much for your help! That was insightful. Bless you!
