Travelling to Europe EU with a new born baby

Post by maqsood.alig » Mon Jul 25, 2016 8:59 pm

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 General VISA, living in UK with my wife on dependent visa. We both are Indian national by birth. Few months back, we have a new born baby in UK. I have applied the Indian Passport for the baby.

I would like to know if it is possible to travel to Europe with the baby just with the Indian passport of the baby. We both have EU Schengen VISA and was thinking to plan a trip to Europe. Do we need a visa for the baby as well in order to travel to Europe, if yes, can I apply for this without having UK Visa for the baby.

Thanks
Maqsood

Child needs Schengen visa to enter Schengen zone.

How do you plan for child to reenter UK?

You need a Schengen visa. Why do you think the baby does not need one?

Does the child have a Tier 2 dependent visa?

If not, how do you expect to return to the UK without a visa for the child?

You can't apply for a Schengen visa if you don't have evidence of the right to reside in the UK.

Many Thanks for the response.

I thought that this would be a problem, just wanted to confirm this. Since the baby is below 1 year.

Could you please help me with cost of Tier 2 dependent visa for the new born baby.

Thanks

The baby being under 1 year is completely irrelevant to immigration/visa processes.

You will also have to pay the immigration health surcharge.

Babies are just little people really; just generally noisier and wetter.

And they need travel documentation to protect against kidnap and trafficking.
