Fully Sponsoring a non-family member for visit on tier 2

Post by Milli_1 » Mon Aug 08, 2016 11:35 am

Hi there,

My questions is related to sponsoring my girl friend for a visit to the UK on my tier 2 visa. I can provide all payslips, accommodation, invitation letter from the firm (who is also an A-listed sponsor). However, my girl friend back home obviously comparatively is not earning enough but working for a Big4 reputed firm.

Therefore, is it possible to sponsor her and take the costs of her trip fully to my account and for her to apply for a visit visa??. Has this been done before and am I allowed to take such a responsibility with my sponsorship ?. :|

FYI- She was once rejected before on the grounds of not having enough money back home. I am not sure why that was the case when I am sponsoring. Maybe this time she could show her parents bank accounts ?
Really confused. Appreciate all the support.

Thanks

It is the applicant's responsibility to prove their financial and personal circumstances in their home country to convince the ECO that they are a 'genuine visitor'.

A visit visa has nothing to do with your sponsor.

How long does she plan to visit you?

It will be for three weeks. I mean even after providing a letter from the firm she is working back home it was rejected. I wonder what else you need ?. is there like a fund requirement ?. or can she show her parents bank accounts to show that she is being supported ?.

Also any advise on how to show that youre a 'genuine visitor' will be much appreciated !

If she is 'unemployed' and visiting her boyfriend in the UK, high chance of refusal. What ties can she show to her home country?? How old is she?

This is exactly what I couldnt understand !. I guess whoever who did this in India was in a bad mood ! If anything else comes to mind to show the ties to being a genuine visitor. Do let me know.

In terms of funds, even after stating that I am fully funding the trip. Is there a certain amount that needs to be shown ? or had. If yes, for how long shouldve she had the amount in her bank account ?.

What do you mean by this?

There are hundreds of recent topics on this issue. Have you searched the forum or read the requirements for a standard visitor visa?

Ties can be

Employment proof
Holiday approved by Employer
Family ties
Property documents etc

She has to convince the ECO that she will leave the UK after her visit. The fact that she is visiting a UK residing boyfriend means that they might think she is not going to leave and 'trying to circumvent the immigration rules'.
