MN1 Referee problem

Post by plabo » Tue Aug 02, 2016 10:47 pm

Hello

My daughter is 4 years old and goes to school and my son is 2 years old and staying at home. We are having difficulties in getting referees. Neither the health visitor or teacher is willing to sign. I work in the NHS and a Registered Nurse is included as one of the professionals to act as a referee. What should I do about the other referee when I don't know any Minister of Religion, Teacher/Health visitor both unwilling to sign?

Can someone with similar experience please help me.

Second referee can be a friend of the family (not necessarily a professional).

Please try to understand my query:

The 2nd referee is NOT the problem, the 1st referee is and the problem is as follows:

1. Minister of Religion (Not available)
2. Teacher (Refusing)
3. Health visitor (Refusing)
4. Social worker (Not available)

For the 2nd referee, I work in the NHS and numerous Nurses (RN) are willing to sign.

How to solve the 1st referee problem then?

You did say: What should I do about the other referee (not the other options).

If you mean referee #1 then obviously choose any professional person you happen to know if you have failed to strike up a relationship with any on that short list.

If HO are not happy with the choice, or it turns out they are related to you or have a criminal record (etc), then caseworker will invite you to nominate another referee.
However it is unusual for them to contact a referee,

Pro tip: whilst you are enjoying life and work, (that is integrating with British society in the UK over 5 or more years), do try and engineer your life so that you can readily meet all up and coming requirements.
After all the requirements are well-documented and well-known.

For example, by cultivating suitable referees ahead of time. (That could mean mean go to church/mosque/temple etc. Or join Rotary club or Freemasons etc etc).
And by generating the necessary papertrails of evidence.
It an save an awful lot of unnecessary last minute panics.

I know 3 Minister of Religions, my daughter has been taught by 6 teachers, we don't take any benefits so no social worker and have only 1 health visitor.

All these above people have VERY STRAIGHT FORWARDLY refused to sign except one Minister of Religion now who has agreed. My children's MN1 is not due till end of February 2017 and I have been planning all this months before and NOT at the last moment. I know more than 200 Nurses and a few are willing to sign to be a 2nd referee.

Why doesn't the Home Office then strip the Referee 1 people of their so called 'privilege' to not be allowed to act as a referee when they are so scared?

Thanks for the advice!+
