Retained right of residence- Doc list

Post by shark_tank007 » Sat Aug 13, 2016 11:46 am

Hello Immigration boards community,

I'm planning to apply for ROR application in Aug'16, however I would like your advice re one of the requirements, i.e. Marriage certificate. Last copy of the marriage certificate I had is kept by Divorce court, when applied for divorce. I do have decree absolute confirming the date of divorce is finalised, stating similar information as on Marriage certificate i.e. date of marriage, place and the parties.

Please can you confirm if marriage certificate is mandatory, for ROR application?

Thanks in anticipation.

If you got married in the UK, then order another one from the gro.gov.uk website.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your reply.

I married in Poland and the process to obtain a new copy requires me appointing an agent in Poland, who would then go in person to govt.office to request a copy, possibly wait few days and then send by post here in UK.

I would therefore like to know what the actual requirement is and avoid the hassle, if possible.

Thanks

Marriage certificate is not required. I applied for ROR and sent the Decree Absolute. HO knows that the court keeps the certificate. You wouldn't get the DA without MC.
