*** FLR(M) Spouse First Extension- Financial Requirement ***

Post by dvadithala » Mon Aug 15, 2016 12:09 am

Hello Experts,

I have wife's spouse visa extension via FLR(M) category. I hold British passport and work as a IT contractor. Wife doesn't work.

Last Financial Year (June 2015 - May 2016): I made 16,340 by Salary and 11,800 by Dividends. That makes total 28,140.

Just to be clear, please can you answer following questions:

1. The requirement of 18,600 is earnings right, not savings?

2. Is it 18,600 for one person or both of us as wife doesn't work? Do Home Office expect 18,600 x 2 =37,200? Sorry, silly question but I wanted to get it right.

3. I read about "Adequate Maintenance Requirement". Does this mean I have to show some monies the bank? (Referring to "A – B ≥ C" equation)

I thank you in advance for reading and answering my queries.

Cheers,
Me

1. Yes, earnings only. but bear in mind as a contractor via a one-man limited company (connected person) UKVI will be very keen on the tax aspect, both personal (PAYE) and company (CT).

2. Just 18,600...

3. Not applicable for FLR(M)

Patience. You posted in the early hours of the morning in the UK and bumped it while most are travelling to work etc. Wanderer who has advised you in this thread isn't online but someone will answer you if and when they can.

Sincere apologies. That is right, I will wait for someone to help. Thank you. Sometimes, it's hard to think straight, whilst I can only think about this extension and stressful documentation.

List looks good - make sure you have a certificate of confirmation from your accountant with your unaudited accounts . That's the only thing I didn't see on your list but I assume it will already be a part of your accounts.

The notes specify:

'(bb) If the business is not required to produce annual audited accounts, unaudited accounts for the last full financial year and an accountant’s certificate of confirmation,
from an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body (as defined in the Companies Act 2006) or who is a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants;'

I don't know if this applies to yourself but I remember having a signed statement from my accountant. I can't remember the exact wording but can send you it if you PM me later today.

Thank you again. Oh yes, in spite of having annual accounts.I'm getting a letter from Accountant (CA) who signs a copy of document which states my salary and dividends.
