Post by ilruk84 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 2:48 pm

Dear All,

Need some advise for my cousin who is currently in process of applying ILR on basis of 10 years. Currently his documents are with home office and he will be varying his application now problem is that he hasn't got any proof of photo ID as all his passports are with home office and he hasn't got any other form of ID no driving license etc, doest anyone has similar problem before and what was the solution for it?

The Life in the UK test is mandatory in addition to his degree as proof of English. The application currently with the Home Office will be refused without it.

Hi Casa,

Thanks for your reply. I understand that he has to take the Life in the UK exam so going back to my original question which was how can he overcome the issue of not having proof of photo ID so that he can sit in Life in the UK exam?

I don't believe he will be permitted to take the test as photo ID is mandatory. His only option may be to vary his application to FLR(LR) which if successful will grant a 2 year extension.

Edit: You say in your opening post that your cousin is attempting to vary an application. What category of visa does he want to vary to Long Residence?
