If born in the UK, the child will be British along with whatever nationality the mother holds. However, should the mother be a national of a country that does not allow dual citizenship, you have a choice to make, British OR other citizenship with RoR.DenKan wrote:Hello Experts,
I have a query regarding my situation. My Wife is a FLR status dependent and is currently pregnant. November will be the delivery date of the new born.
I received my citizenship on April 16. My Wife received her FLR when I was in ILR on Jan 2015. The reason we both did not get the Citizen on the same time is because I was newly married and my wife entered the UK on Jan 2014. UK dependent visa rules were changed on 2012 where spouse need to go through the 5yr route to get her ILR then Citizenship.
I would like to know what status will the new born have when we both are in the UK during the delivery.
I am getting mixed messages, so I wanted to ask your help to guide me on this topic.
Really appreciate your time.
Many Thanks
D
