Urgent help- unmarried visa stamp

Post by pg5 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 11:04 pm

Hi there,

There is anybody who can help me about a query regarding unmarried visa stamp on a Pakistani passport. Currently I am on UK student visa, meet my BF in university, last five years we are living together. I want to apply on unmarried partner visa but I have the fear that if the visa stamp will display ‘unmarried partner visa’ on the visa ticket, it can become a huge problem when I am travelling back to my country. As in all Islamic countries cohabitation is prohibited. Is somebody having the same experience or the people who have applied from UK for the similar visa can tell me about the wording of visa ticket. As I called some of the visa firms and asked about the similar issue and they told me that with their experience if I apply within UK than the new wordings are ‘Resident Permit’ and letter along the passport provides the details about the kind of visa has been given. If somebody can help, it will be appreciated.

Really thanks thirdwave,

It was really helpful, as I was not sure about the wordings and I thought it can become a problem if I am traveling back any time. Thanks again
