applying for hsmp passport expiring Jan'09

applying for hsmp passport expiring Jan'09

Hello All,
My passport is expiring in Jan 2009. I am planning to apply for hsmp in Feb 2008. Would it be a problem for Hsmp initial approval or EC.
Would EC be given only until the date the passport expires..

Why haven't you renewed your passport at your Embassy?

As per present rules Passport should be atleast 6 months valid from the date of application

Hence for you it should be OK

You can apply for renewal after getting HSMP

vinny.. i am planning to get my hsmp stamped asap after approval...

if i renew the passport after hsmp would they still give the hsmp for 2 years or would it be only until the date of expiry of my passport???
