Follow Up on British Citizenship Application

Post by sevendust12 » Tue Sep 13, 2016 5:23 am

Hi Everyone,

Quick question to ask.

I've applied for British Citizenship (Form BOS) in April. I'm still waiting for the results after having done my Biometrics in May. Anyone knows how I could contact them to follow up? I tried emailing NationalEnquiries but only received an automated response. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

They won't entertain any request for a status update until it has been at least 6 months since the date of your biometric enrolment.

Yes, I understand that part.

I would only like to know what's the best way to follow up if I haven't received any feedback once the 6 months is up.

Thanks.

The best way is probably to ask your MP to contact the Home Office. They are very good at getting information out of them.

Sorry, forgot to mention that i'm outside of the UK so contacting an MP does not apply in my case.

Someone I know online is US based and got an MP involved, I'll ask her who helped her out.

Edit: She contacted Stuart McDonald (note the spelling of his first name as there are two in the HoC). He's the SNP spokesman on immigration.

Hi,

Thanks for the information provided.

Sorry to ask but what's the best way to contact that MP?

The OP doesn't have an MP as they live outside of the UK.

Stuart McDonald - MP Scottish National Party

Isn't Google a wonderful invention.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
