Permanent resident card for a baby

Post by caps lock » Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:16 pm

Hi

Me and my husband are entitled to permanent resident card after 5 years living and working in the uk, and then we will apply for british citizenship.
My question is: does baby born 2 years ago needs to apply too? The baby has got resident card for 5 years. We would like to get british citizenship for the baby as well.

Thank you in advance

If you become British you can't sponsor family members on EU route.

But all is not lost...

Where was child born?
If in UK, was she born before or after you acquired PR (status not card)?

No need if baby was born in the UK.
Register them as a British citizen once one of you acquires PR (use form MN1.)

Yes, the baby is born in the uk, at that time my husband has got only eu passport and I have got residence permit for 5 years.
Thank you very much!
