You are not a dual citizen. You are only a BC now.

How long are you going to India for?

You have 90 days grace from the date of your ceremony to travel on your Indian passport without any penalties.

That statement may be slightly qualified.

This post suggests that the 90 days grace is assuming that a non-Indian passport has not yet been acquired.
kimgadi wrote:The 90 days grace period is bit unclear and when I checked with Indian consulate mentioned that it is only applicable to people who have not yet received their British Passport, if one has a British passport then a visa should be secured for India.
The whole thread Travelling to India on Indian Passport is worth a read. Also go through threads in search results for "90 days grace Indian passport" on this site.

My tuppence worth. Surrender takes a working week and application of X-visa takes a week. You should be able to fly to India in two weeks and have much less hassle that way.

I have travelled with an Indian passport soon after getting British citizenship, I can confirm it *is* allowed up to 90 days from the date on your naturalisation certificate (not, 90 days from the issue date on your passport).

However the catch is, when I did this, I had my ILR BRP with me to let me enter the UK on the basis of my Indian passport. Nowadays you have to return the ILR BRP within 5 days of getting the ILR, or be liable for fines. So this really makes it difficult to use your Indian passport.

Even if you travel to India on an Indian passport and intend to show your British passport while entering the UK (note - I DO NOT recommend this) you will have problems exiting India as they check for a valid visa while exiting India if you have an Indian passport. Not to mention passport details of passengers' trips are routinely checked and discrepancies are flagged.

So secret.simon is right-- surrender the Indian passport (it takes only a few days) and apply for a normal travel visa to India immediately. Lots of time and trouble saved.
