ILR about to Expire for Childern - Can i apply for Citizensh

Post by khurramrafiq » Mon Sep 26, 2016 4:24 pm

Hi Guys

I got ILR with all my family (4) in 2012 - since then I delayed Citizenship due to financial conditions.
I just came to know chance that my kids ILR were issued for 5 years - so I have to apply for their ILR extension or Citizenship beforehand.

My question is - If I wait for another 1 year (to save money for whole family citizenship) then apply all together - if I do that my children ILR will be expired by then (no they will not travel by then) - my children citizenship application will be considered with expired ILR ?

Thanks in advance.

If children were born abroad, they can only apply when at least one parent applies.

Their ILR does not expire, it is only the BRP card that expires and needs to be renewed.
