Spouse visa granted, can we move houses?

Post by Selianka » Tue Sep 27, 2016 4:16 pm

Hello,
My son and I been granted the entry clearance recently. We are non-EU citizens and my husband is UK citizen.
So i booked tickets and started packing.
While our visas were under review, me and my husband were checking the nursery schools ofsted reports and found out that we actually don't like any nurseries around. And also it would be nice to move houses and live closer to our friends so our kids can attend school together.
So the question appeared - can we actually move? Or for the duration of the visa (2 years 9 months) - I can only stay on the stated in the application address?
And if we can move - when?
Should I apply for a new visa or contact Home Office about the address change somehow? Will it take a long time again and what if they will question my visa cause of that?
I am sorry if I might sound stupid just I developed a great fear of the UK Home Office.

You can move as soon as you like and you aren't required to notify the Home Office.

Thank you! That's actually a relief.
If you don't mind answering another question cause I stumbled upon the information about notifying Home Office about the change of address for BRP.
But I have a letter where it says that I have to collect my and my son's BRP in 10 days after coming to the country.
So should I notify them in this case or it still doesn't apply to me?

It will probably be simpler if you collect the BRPs and then notify the HO of a change of address. It will only be for administration purposes.

Note: "You can change your address without having to apply for a new BRP."

Cheers for the link xx
so basically it's just for administrative purposes and won't reflect my visa status?
