Cash Savings for Spouse Visa

Post by shah_101 » Mon Oct 17, 2016 2:21 pm

Hi, i would like clarification, I am a british citizen I intend to apply for my partner however I am in receipt of statutory sick pay as I am unwell at the moment. I intend to use cash savings to meet the financial requirement. I was wondering if I could use £62500 as cash savings but does it have to be in a UK bank account. My partner has this sum of money in her account but overseas. It is in her name so would this be a problem? We have also a child together but he is a UK passport holder. I would appreciate it if anyone could help.

Either spouse can have the cash savings but it must have been held for a minimum of 6 months and HO can ask for evidence of where the funds came from.
