Time to receive Bio-metric Details Submission Letter

Post by thisthing2 » Fri Oct 21, 2016 4:05 pm

Hi,

How long does it take to receive Bio-metric details submission letter from the application date when extending Tier 2 visa?

I have applied on 13/10/2016 but have not received any correspondence yet after 8 days.

Thank you.

You can check the In-country Tier 2 application timelines thread and see how long its been taking for people. It seems to be anywhere from 4-5 days to 2 weeks even! Mine took 4 working days as per the issue date.

I tried calling UKVI and one dude was very dude and said he could do nothing.

Then tried the next day and another person said it's normal and I should contact AppointmentExceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

You can try the e-mail, see if you have more luck than I did (I sent the e-mail last Thursday ,so by now I should have received the letter if they considered my e-mail).

This is the worst and more expensive service that I ever paid in my life!!!

I wouldn't worry just yet if I were you, keep in mind that it also takes Royal Mail 2-3 days to deliver the post, even if the UKVI has issued the letter.

Did you submit the online application on the 13th or is that the day your documents reached the UKVI?

Hi thisthing2,

Just some news: they don't know where our documents are.

In my case, I changed from standard to priority service, and my stuff could be "lost" in the standard pile...however, nobody has confirmed if they found my documents or not!

So they just charged me but never bothered to check my application in 2 weeks.

F***** unbelivable!

I still haven't received any thing :(
I sent my doc as Royal Mail Special Tracked delivery and it was received from their PO Box in the morning on 14th.

Ohhh that's horrible. I haven't contacted them yet and do not know what is happening.

I am worried now. I will give them a call tomorrow.

Hi,

I've been watching your post because I submitted my application a few days after you.

I don't think you should be concerned just yet. I've had instances where it has taken 3 weeks to receive the biometrics letter.

The only time I would be concerned is if people with similar timeliness to you receive theirs and you don't receive yours.

I also wouldn't bother trying to contact the home office. I have tried this previously and the responses were very generic.

I hope this helps. I will post back here when I receive my letter, although I would imagine you would have received yours by then too.

Hi,

It's exactly as cherrypie said...calling them doesn't is useless.

Some people posted their timeline and said it took exactly 40 working days, so it looks like they are counting and leaving the decision to the last day.

=/

Hi,

Thanks for updating. That's actually not too bad. I imagine I should receive mine any time now too considering there's only one working between when HO received our applications.

Please will you update on your progress?

Just so you don't worry too much for the next stage, bear in mind it can take 8 weeks from biometrics submission to receive a reply.

I had to apply for a new brp last year around this time as I had applied for a new passport and changed my name to my married name. It took exactly 8 weeks from biometrics submission to receive my new brp and have my passport returned. I would have thought it would have been quicker considering it wasn't actually a visa application but I guess processing time depends on how busy the HO is at the time of submission.

Cheers,
N

Hi cherrypie,

I am also waiting for my BRP enrolment letter. I sent my application on 19th this month and they received it on next day. May I ask your date of application being received by ukvi? I know, I shouldn't be worried at all, it's been only a week.

Many thanks.

Hi Ronin,

My application was received on Oct 17th. I would think you should receive your letter on Tues. It's looking like the letters are arriving 8 working days from when they receive the application at the moment.

I've noticed from previous applications that it's like clockwork if you follow someone along the same timeliness as you.

Cheers,
N

Hi guys,

Quick update, had our biometrics done today. There was a very long queue, I've never seen so many people submitting biometrics before. I think its going to be a long wait for a visa decision.

It looks like they are sending all letters together.

In my case, I had at least 25 students waiting in the queue in front of me.

Hi cherrypie,

You are almost spot on, received my enrolment letter yesterday. Will get it done by tomorrow.
