British Citizenship and Debt

Hi I need your help on British Citizenship as i will apply in next year.I have over 35k debt that include loan and credit card and i am still paying them and at the moment i am struggling to pay them but i am maintaining it.I have no late payment issue on my credit file.

1.As i am planning to go for debt management company to pay them in an single amount to all.Want to know if i go and pay them by debt management company will it affect on citizenship?

2.Which debt management company should i use in that case?

Please help me with this query.I will be grateful if you put your valuable suggestion

I could not possibly tell you which debt management company to use. However I can give you a look into the caseworker guidelines on how to deal with applicants who are in debt. It says in the guidelines:
The decision maker will not normally refuse an application simply because the person is in debt, especially if loan repayments have been made as agreed or if acceptable efforts are being made to pay off accumulated debts. However, where a person deliberately and recklessly builds up debts and there is no evidence of a serious intention to pay them off, the decision maker will normally refuse the application.

The way I interpret this is that you should be fine as long as there evidence that you make an acceptable effort to pay off your debt.

I suggest you get help regarding debt management from your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). The advice is free.

Thanks a lot for your reply.i went to local citizens advice service they havnt got any appointment available.Can i get advise over the phone.Can i go any other borough are they going to help me if i go different borough for this query?
