Hi everyone,
I'm American, my husband is British and we were married in November 2015. We moved to Spain in September after a long honeymoon of traveling and are dealing with the delightful process of getting me a Spanish residency card.
We applied to the British Consulate in Madrid for a Foreign Marriage Recognition Certificate. However, they have said that because our certificate is a year old, the Spanish authorities may not accept it.
When we sent the original off to get apostilled, the office in Colorado sent back the original PLUS a newly issued certified copy, all stapled together. Will the Spanish authorities accept this copy? If not, what's the point of having certified copies at all??? Nobody can give us a straight answer on this.
