Delay in asylum / marriage cases

Hi my friends!

It's me again - still no further with my husband's asylum application and marriage application. He applied for asylum April 2004 and submitted marriage application Sept 2004 (and subsequent Human Rights and DP3/96 applications some time after.) No decisions on any of these.

I have submitted an Operational complaint (got standard reply,) MP has written twice, I have done a Subject Access request under Data Protection (just to try and check they have not lost the case - they haven't) and also sought permission to work for hubby (again to try and urge them to look at this case) ... but all to no avail.

He had a letter via MP's office saying it will be dealt with under Case Resolution but I expect he will be one of the last to receive a decision as he is not costing NASS or BIA anything as we are self-sufficent.

What else can be do now? (apart from go back and apply in Jordan - we are aware of this route and cannot afford it at the moment) Has there been any developments that might be worth pursuing in order to try and envoke a decision?

If he has had no decision at all on his asylum claim - ie not even an initial decision - then an application to be allowed to work ought to be successful. See http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/asylum ... mployment/

Hi, yes sorry, the permission to work was granted 2.5 years ago but it still didn't provoke any decision. Would the delay's faced be considered "excessive"?
