UK Spouse Visa Cash Savings

Post by ar91 » Sat Nov 26, 2016 8:43 pm

Hello,

I am applying for my wife's spouse visa for her to join me in the UK. We have been married for over a year now. My mum gifted me £68,000 in my bank account and it has been in my bank account for over 6 months. We have also got a letter written up from a solicitor declaring where the money came from and the reason why it was transferred and signed by my mother.

I lost my job a couple of months ago and therefore I'm still actively seeking employment. So my question is would the money be sufficient enough to get my wife over to the UK? Would this satisfy the criteria and UKBA?

I appreciate any help or advice.

May satisfied, provided they are satisfied the source of the funds and the fact that it was not obtained by illicit means, and that your wife meets the terms of the rules.

Thanks for the quick reply. My mum actually sold a house she owned so the money is 100% legitimate. Will me not having a job be a problem with my wife getting her visa?

Not if you can meet the financial income level with savings alone.
