Hope all are doing Great! We are recently blessed with a baby girl and I am looking to apply a British Passport for her. I have done some research and need some confirmation on what I need to do as I can't find a post with perfectly compiled info. My wife and I came on TIER-1 GENERAL and got ILR in Oct 2013. So here is what my research says:
1) Get new Passport Application form from Post Office - Got this
2) Get Birth Certificate - Got this
3) Fill in Passport Application form (need to fill in sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 & 10) and send it to below address (which appears on envelope of Passport Application Form I got from Post Office) with my Passport and ILR Card + Detailed Original Copy of Birth Certificate

On the application form:
- Section 1 and 2 are normal to fill in
- I'll select 'No' in section 3 as baby is new born and didn't have any previous passport
- I'll fill in section 4 with my wife's and my details. There are four X boxes on top of this section. Can anyone comment what these boxes are for?
- I'll select 'No' in section 5 as this is neither registration nor naturalisation
- I'll fill in section 9 with my name details and sign
- I'll get section 10 filled in and signed by one of my friends who is Information Technology Consultant - He recently got his British Passport so he is eligible to fill in this section as per my understanding
Please let me know if this is correct or is there any gap in my understanding?
