HSMP Queries

Post by sssm » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:28 pm

Hi,
I have few queries after going through the messages and replies in the message boards. Can someone kindly help me out?

1. I am software professional working in India.
I read in the document that all certificates need to be sent in original.
Can you please let me know if I can produce copy of the originals like
a. copies of certificates attested by an Indian Government Gazetted Officer? or a Notary?
or
b.colour photocopies of the same attested by an Indian Government Gazetted Officer?

2. Regarding Work Experience, I have worked in two companies earlier for a period of 4 years 9 months in total. For which I have relieving letters and experience certificates showing role held and duration but not a separate letter head detailing the nature of responsibilities held. In India normally we don't get nature of responsibilities held from employer in experience certificates. Trying to get that information is tedious and time taking process as the place of current work is different from those places of work.

Also, for my experience in current company (2+ years), I can only provide my job offer letter and payslips/IT Returns to show the experience. This experience is on Oracle Applications and I would like work in the same field after I migrate. My employer wouldnot provide the Employer Reference for the same while in service. Is this fine?

3. I would like to use partner's achievements also, but we are married only 1 year since( document says 2years). In this case, I can show marriage certificates, marriage photos and bank statements of both of us which shows that we are staying at same address.Would this be sufficient?

-Thanks and Regards,
SSSM

hi SSSM,
1)I think you can provide copies attested by a Notary.2)Regarding reference letter ,you are facing a problem similar to mine. Please read the topic under the heading "reference letter with no duties and responsibilities".There are messages in it that explain how to overcome that problem.3) As per the HSMP guide u have to provide a proof of living together over the past two years for claiming spouse/partner points.I am not sure if there is any relaxation in that regard. I am sure you will get more advice from other members of the forum.

answer to no. 3) I think they are very strict with the two year requirement, based on reading previous posts. The only way you can get around it is if you can prove you were already living together at least 1 year before you got married (so two years living together total).

Dear HSSM,

I think there is s confusion in your 3rd question, they require 2 years of living togather in case of unmarried partners, if u r already married and staying together even for one year, it will do (at least i think so), but you will have to provide as many documents as you can in support of your living together for one year also.

sorry to dissappoint you there Dhavalu, but the 2year rule applies to everyone it really has nothing to do with yuour marital status. many on this forum have given testimony about their failure to obtain the 10 points even having been married for as 18months, infact i think there is someone from whom they requested further information to prove the 2years together even though the couple had been married for 10years (i think it was Rella) i will try to search for that post. so it is 2 years staying together whether you were married or not

JUST came across this discussion. U don't have to worry for being married for one year. U can claim these points provided you have evidence to prove you are living together as well.

I was 11 months married when i applied HSMP and was granted the same without any questions being asked.

I think this will help to cool your anxieties.
