Immigration hearing experience - Hearing adjourned due to HO

Post by Sl _1314 » Tue Nov 29, 2016 6:34 pm

Hi everyone, I've been reading a lot of advise through your forums whilst going through the visa process for my husband. Just wanted to say thank you as it has helped me a lot and also ask if anyone has been through what I am about to say.

I had my hearing today in Birmingham (travelled from Reading). We arrived there, met with our Barrister and everything was good to go. We waited til 12noon when we were called in. The home office representative said he never received many husbands bundle. The judge had it and my Barrister had it. I was in utter shock that this person would tell me at this stage that he didn't have it. He said he needs it and that he needs time to look at it so won't be able to do it. The judge agreed and adjourned the hearing. The bundle was sent and signed for the week before so even though he is saying he didn't get it, it's definitely with the home office.

The judge asked him if he was willing to have a look at it today and have the hearing later, considering the home office was around the corner from where the hearing was held and he said no.

I was completely devastated. My family took days off work and drove 3 hours to come to this hearing. I've now been separated from my husband for the last 16 months and it's going to take a further 8 weeks to be relisted.

Has anyone been through this? This is so unfair
