Confusion over New English language test

Post by Kindsoul » Sat Dec 31, 2016 3:39 pm

Hello to all seniors,
I will be applying for FLR(M) extension in July for my wife. Could you guys please shed some light on whether she has to take new A2 English test? or she can submit her IELTS test certificate General Training ( August 2011) which was accepted during her entry clearance and then also initial grant of visa FLR(M) application.

I will be really thankful for you any suggestion regarding this. Many thanks

Kind Regards
Baz

Thanks CR001 for your prompt reply. However I get confused when I read FLR (M) Form

Note 3
Please see the list of approved tests on gov.uk at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ guidance-on-applying-for-uk-visa-approved-english-language-tests You must provide your SELT unique electronic reference number provided by the awarding body as evidence of your test with your application. If you sat an English language test before 6 April 2015 you will not have a SELT unique electronic reference number. You may still be able to use your test with this application but only if it was accepted as part of a successful previous partner or parent application. See section 21e) of the FLR(M) guidance notes.

Part of Section 21e

You have passed an English language test in speaking and listening at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference or above, with a Home Office approved provider.

Is IELTS certificate not equivalent to level A1 of CEFR?
I hope it make sense. I am just trying to understand what they meant by mentioning the paragraph above.

Thanks very much.
