French Chinese couple wants to get married in UK

I have searched the forums but could not found a similar topic.

I am a French citizen living in UK since 10 years. My fiancee (girlfriend at that time) and I met 6 years ago, but starting dating 3 years ago in 2014. We shared a flat in London until she graduated from University doing an MBA and went back to China in December 2015. She completed both a Bachelor and an MBA in London. Since then, we met numerous times in Berlin, London, Hong Kong and very recently in Japan where I proposed to her! Now we are both back respectively to Beijing and London for me.

What is the best way for her to come to London, get married together and for her to develop her carrer in London please? I owe a property in London and plan to remain here.

UK route: apply for fiancee visa. Marry in UK within 6 months. Apply for spouse visa. Get ILR after 5 years.

EU route: marry somewhere. Apply for FP for spouse. Spouse comes to UK and lives, works, studies as your dependent.
Ofcourse there is unlikely to be time to acquire PR in normal way as UK is unlikely to be in EU in 5 years time.
Rely on British sense of fair play and any transitional arrangements that come out of Brexit negotiations- all yet TBA & TBC ofcourse.

You may wish to look at confirming your PR status in meantime too.

Hi Noajthan,

For her carer this is about the same do you think? I will certainly apply for the right to stay in UK as I have been here more than 5 years now to preempt any issues with Brexit.
