You may say that as a moderator with a fair level of understanding of the visa requirements, applying for a family visitor visa should be simple.
Not so unfortunately. My mother-in-law applied for a visitor visa to spend 3 weeks with us before Christmas. She submitted documented evidence of property ownership, family ties with a husband, 5 adult sons & daughters, 6 grandchildren and €7,000 euros held in a savings account for several years. My husband submitted financial evidence to sponsor her visit.
Refused as no proof of where the savings originated, and no employment in her home country. It's becoming increasingly difficult to succeed in a visitor visa application, especially as the route to settlement for adult dependent relatives has been virtually closed.
