TIER 2 Extension Duration

I was intially granted Tier 2 G in 2014 (March). I am planning to apply for an extension now.

Can I apply for a 3 years extension? or Can I only apply for 2 year extension.

My employer is quite flexible and will be able to offer requested duration on the COS>

You can apply for 3 years extension. The maximum stay you can have in Tier 2 is 6 years. Thanks
