Queries on EC

Post by Juno » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:29 am

Hii guys,
pls reply for my queries on EC.

I am planning to go for EC this month.
I got HSMP approval on second attempt but my reference number is the same.I reapplied within couple of weeks.

1)Should i mention this for" any previous reference number" question?

2) Do the British high commision in India have the copies of all the documents that applicants submit for Initial approval to H.O,UK??
I lost my driving license and IELTS score card so i am going with just DOB certi and letter from Univ. abt the medium of instruction and xerox copy of IELTS.

3) I was out of country couple of times but not to UK.Should i mention this on the previous travel history Q.no 5.1 for EC?

4) I have changed the address from the time i applied for initial approval and i lost some posts at this new address. Can i give my home address to be safe?

Please take out some time to reply guys.

Thanks a lot.

Juno

Find my relplies inline..

1)Should i mention this for" any previous reference number" question?
Where exactly is this question? In the form, there is no place where you are supposed to enter HSMP ref number. If you have gone to UK, then only need to enter Ref Number (for visa type - work type, hsmp etc)

2) Do the British high commision in India have the copies of all the documents that applicants submit for Initial approval to H.O,UK??
I lost my driving license and IELTS score card so i am going with just DOB certi and letter from Univ. abt the medium of instruction and xerox copy of IELTS.
I guess it will work... do submit your degree as well

3) I was out of country couple of times but not to UK.Should i mention this on the previous travel history Q.no 5.1 for EC?
No the form clearly states that only travels to UK are to be documented. In case you need to add, put in Additional Information which comes somewhere at the end

4) I have changed the address from the time i applied for initial approval and i lost some posts at this new address. Can i give my home address to be safe?
Does your passport reflect this prrof.. if it does no problem else look for an alternative. For instance, EC will send courier only when you ask them to, else they will contact you after decision and you can goto VFS to collect your docs. So your call...

Hi juno,

1)Should i mention this for" any previous reference number" question?

No..U need not provide any reference number. The EC application only asks about the previous entries to UK and extensions in UK.You are required only to provide the ref. no's for previous UK entries or extensions only.As of now you just need to submit your HSMP approval letter. The reference no. on the approval letter is quoted which EC officer would make a note.

2) Do the British high commision in India have the copies of all the documents that applicants submit for Initial approval to H.O,UK??
No.The copies of initial approval are retained at the H.O,UK.

3)I lost my driving license and IELTS score card so i am going with just DOB certi and letter from Univ. abt the medium of instruction and xerox copy of IELTS.

You may only submit ur Original date of birth certificate as proof of age.

For english proficiency You may only sumit the original letter from the University stating that your degree was taught in english both written and spoken

3) I was out of country couple of times but not to UK.Should i mention this on the previous travel history Q.no 5.1 for EC?

The application form For HSMP EC Q.No.5.1 requires us only to fill up travel history only to UK and not other countries.Leave it blank if u have not visited the UK.

4) I have changed the address from the time i applied for initial approval and i lost some posts at this new address. Can i give my home address to be safe?

You can provide the local address where you are staying at present.
Try to quote the address to which you receive ur bank statements ..
It would be a better option and safe too to receive ur passport..

UR feedback on this post is welcome.......

Take care .. :)

Thanks a lot guys for ur time and replies. That was very helpful.

@devfore11
Ya ur right ,I got confused for Q5.6.

My only concern is about the Address issue.
Address in passport(X1), Current Native address(X2).Address applied for initial approval is X2, current residence address(X3).Now i don’t want to give address X3 for safety purpose. Now let me know if I can give “X2â€
