Tier 2 General Extension

Post by nag2456 » Mon Jan 30, 2017 6:31 pm

Hello All,

Hope you all are doing well!

I am due to extend my current tier 2 visa in March,
When I previously applied, I entered as an new entrant worker. so if i need to apply for extension i need to go on Experienced salary and my employer weekly hours are 37.5.

I believe Home office soc codes experienced salary are calculated on (39 or 40 hours), so if i apply for extension do i need to go on experienced salary (39 or 40 hours ) or employee 37.5 hours calculated by annually.

could someone tell me how the salary is calculated.

if i apply on 37.5 hours how the salary would be calculated!

Any comments much appreciated.

Many Thanks!

The calculation is pretty basic.
First establish what your SOC experienced salary is.
Divide it by the appropriate hours per week as determined by the SOC code
This gives you a hourly rate.

Do the same with your actual salary to get your hourly rate.

If your hourly rate is below the SOC rate you need a pay increase to at least match the SOC rate or you will get a refusal

Hi @Frontier Mole

This is my Current COS status

Job type: 2137 Web design and development professionals
Total weekly hours of work: 40.0
Gross salary including any allowances and guaranteed bonuses: 23000.00

According to SOC
Salary rates:
New entrant: £20,800* / Experienced: £23,400

So my question is
1. My salary will increase to 23,500. When I do my extension, when creating COS:
Total weekly hours of work: 39 (does this works? ). Just to let you know that previouly my COS says 40 hours a week.

I am so confused with this weekly hours work :?

kind regards
kumar

SOC 2137 is based on 39 hours per week
So hourly experienced rate is £23,400 / 39 / 52 = £11.54

Your hourly rate £23,500 / 39 / 52 = £11.59

So all good.

Hello,

Thanks for your valuable reply,
Finally a last question:
My current Visa is on 2135 Soc code and it's experienced salary is £33000 for 39 Hours
If I apply visa extension on salary £31800 for 37.5 hours.
Are there any chances of rejection!

How does the home office consider the salary rate when we apply for extension do they work it as PRO Rate or experienced salary for that code.

Please let me know!

Any comments much appreciated!
Thanks

Post by nag2456 » Tue Feb 07, 2017 1:18 pm

Hello,

Can any one please let me know about the below situation.
My current Visa is on 2135 Soc code and it's experienced salary is £33,000 for 39 Hours
I have calculated the above salary basis on 37.5 hrs and it came up with 31,800 for 37.5hrs

So,If I apply my visa extension on salary £31,800 for 37.5 hours.
Are there any chances of rejection!

How does the home office consider the salary rate when we apply for extension do they work it as
PRO-Rota or experienced salary for that code.

Any comments much appreciated!
Thanks
