Spouse visa from India - Confused

Post by singhmohit » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:43 am

Hello All,

We are in the same boat it seems... very confused.
I'm born Indian, been in UK for over 10 years and currenly have British Passport. I got married in my native land (India) two weeks ago and have applied for my Wife's visa for UK today in the VFS center in New Delhi. The VFS representative told my wife that since this is "Settlement-Wife" visa - they will not accept the "Supporting Documents" in VFS office but we will need to post them to Sheffield as per the new/modified process introduced/effective on 31st Jan 2017.

I'm totally confused with this new process which has even made me question myself even if I've filled/selected correct visa category on Visa4UK website. I selected "Settlement-Wife" in the online application form for my Wife's spouse visa.

Question:
1. Did I select the right category in the online form on visa4uk.fco.gov.uk as under "Settlement-Wife"?
2. Does anyone know how the new process impact the turn-around-time of the spouse visa?

Many thanks,
Mohit

1. Yes, correct visa category.

2. No difference and is based on a case by case basis, you will just need to wait.
