Approved CIS

Post by Amofe » Wed Mar 08, 2017 4:08 pm

Hello,
I'm looking into CIS from private UK insurers but I cannot find which ones are fully acceptable by HO/UKBA. I heard from previous applicants who used WPA/AXA/AVIVA/BUPA/VITALITY that some were accepted, some refused. Few insurers have a policy that is called "COMPREHENSIVE" while others not, which make it a very risky step to get an insurance from them (how can you be sure you went for policy that is truly "COMPREHENSIVE"?). As far as I know the safest bet for CIS is to get a full policy but what about options that reduce your premium, does opting for:
- 6wks waiting (use NHS if treatment is within 6wks)
- £0 excess
- £0 out-patients cover
makes it less "COMPREHENSIVE"? Does it make us a potential burden on the UK gov? Having CIS from a private insurers doesn't mean we, eligible EU citizens, cannot use NHS, right?
Many thanks for your help.

No private health insurance plan covers every single person or every single
medical condition. If it did, it would be too expensive.
