Hi
As I said earlier, I have applied for ILR in the last August 2016 and did not get any correspondences from Home Office but last week I have received a letter from them and its stated that

"Your application will not processed within 6 month target. This is because your application raises exceptionally complex issues and we require further time to consider your case thoroughly and reach a decision. We expect to make decision on your application by 4th May, but we still write you again if this is not going to be possible."

is anyone in this forum received any correspondence from the Home Office like this or any other format ?
Thanks

Hi Mayu2016,
Thanks and sorry for late post, yes I'm Srilankan too and few of my friends also waiting about a year after they made the application through the SET P route.
I don't know why is taking too long for this processes but there is some news/rumours around, about this issues in some web media. I'm so fed up but what to do, still we have to wait.

Hi all,

My husband did apply for ILR on Oct 2015 as his 5 year visa was about to expire on Nov 2015. He got a letter on April 2016 from HO that it needs to be processed beyond 6 months time. Since then, there is no word from them and is more than 16 months since he applied for it. We have no clue as what's happening on his case, and couldn't settle in life due to that :-(

Does anyone have any idea on this? Is there any way to expedite their process?

He is a Sri Lankan and was in refugee status before he got the travel document visa for 5 years. And he is on full time employment, tax payer and doesn't have any negative character while in uk.

He applied for ILR with the guidance of a solicitor. And is still looking for a reply from HO for the past 16 months time. He did not receive any emails or letters with frequent updates as others mentioned above. Worrying about his case now?

Thanks for your reply MuriNath,

I think you said that you have been waiting for a year without any update from them. Six month is their standard time and if you haven't received anything within six months, you can call them and ask what is going on.
For me, they have sent me a letter before six months completed, which said they need 3 more months to make a decision.

Good luck :)

Hi Hilman,

Yes, you are right there are many rumours going around. As per my understanding, it is something to do with "Asylum Policy Instruction Revocation Of Refugee Status Version (4.0) ".
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... .0_EXT.pdf

Country Policy and Information Team, visited Srilanka around July 2016 and it is going to release another one (Version 5.0, maybe) this year and all our result will be based on that report.
Hopefully, everything will be ok.

Hello Guys!
Just find news on the web that saying about ILR to have safe return to countries review

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/ ... five-years

To be honest it is like snow on my head!! HO changes the rules again and putting a new law on Tuesday 14.03.17 - all new applications will go under new scheme.

What you think guys? Have you heard anything? I wanna cry! They implemented new changes in quite!
We all know how "good" HO is and how "quick" they do their jobs, but it will influence on new application and give uncertainty how long new application will take and at the end HO cane give untruthful and unreasonable decisions just to refuse ILRs.
