I had provided proof of my circumstances, including a letter from my university explaining that I must return to join the mandatory internship period after receiving my results.
As a student I am also unemployed and my trip was to be sponsored wholly by my family members in the UK. I had provided evidence for the sponsor, and statements and payslips to support this. This was not noted to be of concern in the decision.
What they did pick up on was the fact that most of my immediately family (all) are residing permanently in the UK and they do not believe that I plan to visit for the sake of visiting, even though i have clearly stated in my application that i must return to join the mandatory internship for my course.
Here is the decision:
Any advice on what I can do next would be much appreciated. ThanksI have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph 4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for Visitors because:
You have applied for a visa to the UK for 3 months to visit your family in the UK. I note that you have indicated {sponsor} will be responsible for the costs associated with your visit whilst you are in the UK and you have submitted supporting documents to evidence this. I also recognise that family visits are important however I must consider the information regarding [sponsors] support of your visit separately in my assessment of your application. To consider whether or not I am satisfied that your intentions are as stated and that you meet the requirements of the immigration rules i must assess your own personal and financial circumstances.
You state in your application you are a student at [uni] and you have provided a letter from the college to confirm this. However I note that you have provided no other evidence of your circumstances in [country] including other family ties. Having noted that most of your immediate family are living in the UK, I am not satisfied that you have established that the strength of your ties to Bangladesh are such that it represents a strong reason for you to leave the UK after the limited period as stated by you. This leads me to doubt your intentions in applying to go to the UK.
Therefore, on the balance of probabilities, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period not exceeding 6 months or that you intend to leave the UK at the end of the period stated by you in your application as required by paragraph 4.2 of Appendix V of the UK Immigration Rules"
