Visited a solicitor today. He told me as IELTS got 2 years expiry date which is finished I've to sit for IELTS. According to guidance page 63, points 234 I believe I am automatically met the points criteria. Couldn't understand what need to do. Expecting more advise please.
-Thanks

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

I honestly wonder why immigration solicitors, as seen on this forum at least are often so clueless

One does have to wonder when a member says 'solicitor' do they mean an 'immigration advisor', there is a huge difference with the latter only required to do a one day Level 1 OISC course to 'practice'.

I had no idea about this option. Can they put their names as the advisor of record in the forms going to HO?

Yes, as long as they are Registered with OISC and pay their annual fees to be an OISC advisor. There are 3 levels of OISC courses, many only do level 1.

So a one day course and you can prey on unwitting immigrants? That's broken.

Yup and I suspect of quite a few of the questions on the forum 'on behalf of my friend/cousin/brother' etc is likely this scenario.
