WORRIED!! Tier 2 visa application after start date on COS

Post by Frodo Baggins » Tue Apr 25, 2017 11:00 am

Hi, I am new to this forum and I have searched all through for similar scenarios as per new Home office changes but didn't seem to find hence me asking for help now.

I am a new Hire from overseas and this would be my first Tier 2 application.i usually visit the UK on holidays. I intend to start work as a Doctor in one of the NHS trusts in London.

My Certificate of Sponsorship was issued by my trust on the 29th March 2017 with a Start date of 5th April 2017

I got the email with my cos ( 29/3/2017 ) as I was about to catch a flight so I couldn't do anything concerning my visa application till I got back a week later ( April 4 2017 )

I got back from my trip and started gathering my necessary documents ( TB test, IELTS, police report etc ) and therefore submitted my application for a Tier 2 after my start date. I submitted online on the 6th April and submitted supporting documents with biometrics on the 10th April 2017

My question is will my application be refused because I applied way after my start date? To be fair the cos was issued just on the 29th March with a start date of 5th April and there was no way to have gotten an entry clearance within that week from overseas at least.

It has been giving me a bit a concern as I haven't heard from home office. I emailed my trust for another start date in May and asked them to inform the HO via the SMS on my cos but I am yet to hear back from them.

To the best of my knowledge I have submitted all the necessary required documents to get the points necessary for a Tier 2 but I am just worried.

I also put my intended date of travel to the UK for the 28th April 2017. I hope that's okay?

Hoping to hear from you guys and the experts on this forum. Thanks

Nothing to worry.
Ask the trust to add a note to the cos that the start date has been changed and will suit following the issuance of the visa.
Also the start date they have put is the start date from when they will like to sponsor u, not the date u would start the job. so keeping this in mind, even if they dont do anything, u should still be fine, as long as u have submitted all the other docs.

Yes. Thank you for replying. I appreciate it. I emailed my trust yesterday to inform HO about a new start date for sometime in the middle of next month but I am yet to hear back from my trust. I'd try to contact them today again. I was just worried because of the new changes. You reckon putting a an intended travel date of April 28th wouldn't be a negative on my application ? Cos I read something on this forum yesterday about putting an intended travel date not more than two weeks after start date.
