Hi,
I am in a similar situation. I have been living in the UK for the last 7 years (from April 2010). I submit my permanent residency application in July 2016 and I received the Permanent Residency in January 2017.
Unfortunately from September 2016 to January 2017 I have been out of the UK (more than 90 days).
Since Jan 2017 I am back in the UK.
I have 3 questions:
- Shall I wait until at least January 2018 before applying for naturalization?
- As part of the naturalization application, will I have to provide various proofs of address and employment again (as I have already done for the permanent residency application)? Only for the last 12 months before the application or for the entire 6 yrs before the application?
- Sadly, I have not taken a copy of my application for the permanent residency before submitting it. I am concerned by the fact that in the naturalization application I will have to provide again the same information/dates (e.g. dates when I was out of the country) and that they will cross-check the 2 applications. I have nothing to hide, but it is easy to make a mistake.
Do you know if it is possible to request a copy of my permanent residency application to the immigration office? Would you recommend it?
Many Thanks
