Is my ILE on my old passport valid to travel to and from UK?

I have an Indefinite Leave to Enter on my old Nepalese passport. I currently have a new Nepalese passport which is empty. I am planning to apply for a Schengen Tourist Visa for a short trip to Spain. I was led to believe when applying for my new passport that if I produce both my old and new passports together I would still be able to enter and leave the UK in accordance to my Indefinite Leave to Enter visa on my old passport. However, I wanted to confirm if this is true before going ahead and applying for the Schengen visa. Can I still use my old passport to show my visa?
