No pages left in passport & HSMP extension needed 1st Ma

Post by harit » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:14 am

My HSMP (1+3) is expiring 1st of March 2008. I just realized today when I was about to mail for FLR that my passport does not have any pages left (visa stamps + exit/ entry stamps). The passort does not expire until mid-2009. I went to the Indian Consulate and they told me it will take 2 - 3 weeks for me to get a new passport (they don't do additional pages anymore). I am in a quandary now. Will the HO issue me an extension as a document if there is no space in my passport? Or will they refuse and extension? I will greatly appreciate forum members advice on my best course of action at this point.

Thanks,

Hari

Chapter 22 - Passports and Travel Documents > Section 1 - Passports and Travel Documents wrote:4.2. Granting leave to remain

Where a person qualifies for leave to remain but does not have a passport or where the document held by the applicant may not be endorsed because it falls into one of the categories described in paragraph 2 above, leave to remain should be endorsed on form RON 58.
