Are you in Ireland as a visitor? If not, what visa do you hold?

Not sure if you will have success as you are required to apply for UK visas in a country you have legal residence, i.e. not a visitor.

Why didn't you apply from Canada?

That is not true I called UK passport patrol and Embassy and Ireland as well to make sure it was okay, I did not apply in canada because I have been backpacking the world for 8 months, so when I called they said it wouldn't be a issue.

I have read that whole guidance front to back, which is why I called them and asked before applying and going through with the whole process if what I was going to do be possible.

Only pointing out what the norm is for visa apps for the UK from abroad, apply from country of legal residence/nationality. If, by any chance, you called the UKVI helpline, you should be aware that they are well known for frequently giving out incorrect information and taking no responsibility for it either.

All you can do is wait then and hope you get it before your visit visa expires.

Good luck, hopefully you hear something soon.

Congrats, pleased for you. It is not possible for many visa categories to do what you have done though.
