ICT to Dependent to General

Hi All,

One of my friend came to UK on Tier-2 ICT Longterm visa, after some months he switched his visa to Tier-2 general dependent.

Now he got a job and wanted to switch to Tier-2 general visa. Is it allowed? He switched from ICT to General Dependent more than 1 year back.

So for ICT people Cooling off period of 1 year means? He should leave UK or Is it Ok, If he is in UK as General Dependent for morethan 1yr?

If he has been on T2 dependent visa for more than 12 months, then its fine. He can apply for T2 General visa. However, he cannot do it from UK, he needs to go back and apply from home country. His prospective employer also needs to ensure that RLMT is conducted as per process since this forum has seen quite a few rejections due to incorrect RLMT.

. I would suggest you read the T2 Guidance + T2 Sponsor Guidance as well in case you want to be doubly sure. Browse through this forum for similar cases. That might help as well.
