Marriage Question.

Post by adamgough » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:36 pm

Hi.

My brother, a British Citizen, has just married an American girl in the US. She is currently in the UK on a holiday permit. They want to remain in the UK.

They are bing told that she has to go back to the US to apply for Entry Clearance before she can come back, which takes up to 16 weeks.

Is there any way she can submit the application from here in the UK, or at least fly over to aply, then come back whilst the application is processed?

Many thanks for any help.

Adam

No, and no.

But if there are no complications, the visa could be issued within about 5 to 10 days anyway.

That's great, thanks for your reply.

Do you know the reason why they don't let you apply from in the UK?

You can't switch from a visitor to a settlement category.
