re-entering after a tier 5 visa

Post by aussiegirlneedshelp » Sat Jun 10, 2017 11:28 pm

Hi I'm an Australian, nannying in the UK since last year and my tier 5 visa expires January 4th 2018. I was about to book a contiki tour of the UK and ireland with some friends that finishes on the 16th in London where I'll then fly to Canada in the next few days.
I know there is a grace period of 30 days after your visa expires that you must leave in but I'm worried that I'll be traveling via Ferry back into England and I might get stopped by border security.
I'll have a one way ticket to canada and canadian visa but I just wanted to know if i should be applying for a visiting visa or an extension or will border security let me through if i show them I'll be leaving in a few days and am no longer employed?
