Do I need to notify Home Office of my marriage?

Post by ExpatKiwi » Mon Jun 26, 2017 10:32 am

Good morning. I submitted my citizenship application in March and have since got married to a British citizen. I currently have ILR and have not yet changed my name in any official capacity. My husband was not named in my citizenship application as we were not living together prior to the wedding and I wanted to get citizenship on my own merit. I am intending to change my name at some point but thought it would be prudent to wait until after I got my citizenship. Do I still need to inform the Home Office of my marriage? And if so, how? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not necessary.
