LOST BRP ABROAD, HELP

Post by AlbaLangley » Thu Jun 29, 2017 11:13 pm

Hi,

My english is not very good and this is new to me but I'm going to try to explain myself the best I can, I hope you understand.

My boyfriend is from the US and lives and works in the UK under a Tier 2 visa. He lost his wallet on the way to Gatwick 2 days ago and his BPR was in it. He did not realise at the time so he took his flight to Sicily anyway and he reported it from there. Now his BRP has been cancelled. He is supposed to fly back to London in 3 days and he has been advised not to return on a tourist visa, since it could potentially jeopardise his residence visa.
He is filling the form to apply for a replacement BRP but that could take weeks and he needs to come back for obvious reasons.

What are his options? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Home Office reference:

The replacement process (from outside the U.K.) is twofold- temporary one-way BRP to get back to the U.K. and then a longer term replacement within 1 month of re-entry to the U.K.

If you or he need more details- contact an immigration solicitor.
