IHS charge for PBS Dependent

Post by suresa » Sat Jun 24, 2017 7:32 am

Hi

I am trying to apply for PBS Dependent visa for my child. My original visa is ICT Tier 2 and now got ILR. My wife is still in PBS Dependent Visa. When i apply for my kid through PBS Dependent, if i enter my visa route as ICT and end date to the "ILR" end date, the IHS comes quite high GBP 1700. But normal PBS is for 3 years and it comes to GBP 500. WHich one is correct ? How much should i pay ?

ICT dependent does not pay IHS.

Child must apply alone. Leave your details out.

So when the form comes for Main applicant, should i just fill my child's details again ? Since i provide my details in the main applicants area, it links that to IHS and shows a huge value.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your reply on the other thread. But the issue is when i create application, its asking for the main appplicant & in that section what should be selected ? its asking for details on someone who is in UK and start and end date of their Visa ?

Hi Suresa,

Could you please let me know how you applied for this? I am in the same situation as you and it asks me to pay 1500 as IHS surcharge.

Dependent must apply alone. Do not put your details in. See similar question and resolution in link below.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your reply. But I dont understand what you mean by dependent should apply alone. Let me explain my case in detail

My child was born outside of UK. And we are now applying for Leave to enter through PBS dependent route as I got my ILR through Tier 2 ICT and my wife is still a PBS dependent. In VISA 4 UK site, I created an application based on Tier 2 Long Term Child Migrant and it asks for Main applicants details ( The applicant to whom the child is dependent on) which is me. So automatically I have to add my details and when I get redirected to IHS I'm asked for Work Start date and end date. I gave my end date based on ILR end date.

Also in the "Are you applying to join or remain with a person already in the UK?" section the guidance is clearly given as "You don't need to add this person's details if they are a UK or EEA citizen." I'm not a UK citizen. So very confused on what to do.

Contacting UKVI for all queries is so expensive and they dont answer properly as well.

Hi CR001,

After reading through many posts by you in various threads. It looks like I can simply ignore Are you applying to join someone question for IHS. But the only query is about what should I use for Work end date. If enter it as 2024 which is my ILR expiry I assume it is still going to calculate it as 1500 pounds.

I have used my wife's details as Main applicant as my childs VISA will be aligned to hers. Let's hope it all goes through fine. I will update after the application is decided.

Finally received my Son's VISA today. Filling in my wife's details as main applicant for IHS has worked.

Even if you underpay IHS, VISA will not be rejected. Rather you will be asked to pay the remaining money. So please go ahead with the calculation based on the number of years you are applying for *£200. Put the expiry date based on this.
