Yes that is correct - for online applications only. I would expect that the printed out route did not give you a checklistjhemanu wrote:baccus99 wrote:hi there, go into your Checklist pdf that you sent with your application. In there you will find the Unique Reference Number, i.e. 1234-1234-1234-1234. Just enter it in the online search without the hyphens, i.e. 1234123412341234 and then it should work. Good luck!jhemanu wrote:Hello All,
Please is someone be able to confirm where exactly do I find the unique reference number? I have tried all possible correspondences to our application but no luck - all showed no recognised. EEA national + Non EEA national, joint application.
Our timeline are as follows:
Application sent: 24/04/2017
Received: 25/04/2017
Fee deducted: 26/04/2017
Case ID: 19/06/2017
Biometric request received: 19/06/2017 (dated 16/06)
Biometric submitted: 20/06/2017
Thanks all!
Hi baccus99,
Many thanks for this - would this be for online applications only? I have physically printed and filled out the EEA PR form.
Please be vigilant not ignorant [Addressing HO tracking via Royal Mail ref]ajitk1 wrote: This all seems so strange to me. People recommending using Royal Mail tracking number to find the progress of their application.
Royal Mail number on sent documents will confirm receipt by HO> If you try to use the number on the return envelope it will not give you any result as the attached tracking number is not activated.
Do you people imagine HO working in conjunction with PO? Using the same tracking number to process your applications.
To track your application which will give u the status viz Pending (received), Awaiting decision (under process) or Decided you have to use your case ID or Unique Referene No. if you have applied online.
So much space and time is wasted when all you have to do is use common sense.
After 3 months I realise that people are just crazy eager to know any bit of information. What they havent learnt is that the whole process takes time. A lot of time and nothing is set. One can expect any result and the time frame varies as there are many criteria to reach the decision they make. Even a couple of differences in the situation will speed up or delay your decision.
All you have to do is be patient.

I went to the post office and got the documents with the PR card and date when I acquired the PR.
Have to say they gave me the wrong date...I thought it would be May 2016 but it's November 2015. Doesn't change much but if anybody is interested I had WRS but changed employer within 12 months of getting it and didn't inform HO(didn't know I had to) so thought they would only count from May 2011.
For anybody still waiting it took 9 working days from "decision made" to getting the documents..And I supplied 1st class, next day before 1pm envelope.

I don't think you have a chance to apply for permanent residence and return your passport by the beginning of August (it is like a miracle), better to go travelling and then come back and apply with non-EU via online service (it is faster by experience on this forum). probably by that time Non-EU will receive passport back.citizzzen wrote:Hi All,
We are going to apply for PR for non-EEA and EEA together. Does anyone know how quick we can return the EEA person's passport?
Just to be clear: we can't use the local authorities to check passports as non-EEA passport is retained by Home Office due to refusal of recent PR application(reason of refusal- not enough evidence of EEA person staing in UK for last 5 years). We are going to re-apply submitting missing documents but we need EEA passport back asap as they have flights booked for beginning of Aug.
Thoughts from people with experience would be very much appreciated.
BTW how about using a premium service and apply in Liverpool for 600 pounds - they will give you decision within one day. I really regret i didn't do this and had to wait 6 months.... all my friends used premium service and were happy with the result/time.citizzzen wrote:Hi All,
