Just a couple of questions about getting married on a Tier 4 Visa

Can you currently get married on a Tier 4 Visa by just giving notice to the local registrar?

I am not planning on staying in the UK after my Tier 4 visa runs out unless I get a job for the following year. Is this possible?

Will either of these situations cause any travel restrictions?

As a foreign national without settled status you can only give notice to marry with a Home Office designated Registry Office. The Registrar is then legally bound to notify the HO who can then extend the notification period from 28 to 70 days in order to interview you both before the wedding can take place.

She is currently here on a Tier 4 visa that will be getting renewed for another year come September. She has just completed a 4-year honours degree and is coming back to do her masters degree in september.

It's that simple in "Theory". This makes getting married in the UK then moving to the US easier than marrying in the US and staying. Is a civil marriage enough to obtain the K-3 visa?

Do you mean a civil partnership (same gender) or a non-religious ceremony in a Registry Office?

Just read that there may be an interview before being allowed to marry in the UK. What should we expect from this interview?

Explained in my previous post above. Not all couples are interviewed and you may well be able to marry under the standard 28 day notice period. Questions to establish whether the relationship is genuine would cover basic facts and details that a couple would be expected to know about each other.

A civil marriage in a Registry Office would be recognised as legally valid for US immigration purposes.

That leaves us with the option of a K3 visa or I 130. is there a limit o how long you can hold the visa for before travelling. say the visa came through in the January and I would be travelling in the may of the same year. would this create an issue?
